The PG & Research Department of Physics at St Thomas College Kozhencherry successfully conducted an academic talk titled “Decoding Electrons: An Introduction to Density Functional Theory” on 31 March 2026 at the RUSA Seminar Hall. The programme was led by Dr. Manu Mohan, guest faculty of Department of Physics, St. Thomas Colleg, Kozhencherry, who delivered an informative session on the fundamentals and applications of Density Functional Theory in modern physics and materials science. The talk provided students and faculty members with valuable insights into computational approaches used to study the behavior of electrons. The programme commenced with a warm welcome address by Dr. Prathibha Vasudevan, who highlighted the importance of such academic initiatives in promoting scientific research and learning among students. The event witnessed active participation from students, teachers, and research scholars.
