As part of Extension Activities 2025, the Postgraduate and Research Department of Physics organized a programme titled “Distribution of LED Bulbs” at MTLP School, Thekkumkal on 18 November 2025.The main objective of the programme was to promote awareness on energy conservation and encourage the adoption of energy efficient lighting systems among school students and the local community. Faculty members along with the students of the department visited the school and distributed LED bulbs to students to promote the use of energy efficient lighting.The LED bulbs were assembled by the post graduate and Undergraduate students of the department An interaction session was conducted highlighting the scientific principles of LED technology, its advantages such as reduced power consumption, longer lifespan, and environmental benefits. The programme effectively linked physics concepts with real life applications and sustainability. The programme reflects the department’s commitment to community outreach and societal development. The programme was inaugurated by the College Principal Dr.George K Alex.
